Handmade Ceramic Dimple Cup in Cream

This is a medium sized mug, with no handle. Instead it has a thumb imprint for comfortable holding.  It is in a cream satin matte glaze, over a speckled clay.  It measures approximately 7.5cm by 7.5cm and has a capacity of 175ml.

Each cup is handmade by me in my studio in Cornwall, using stoneware clay and food safe glazes.

‘Trelowen’ means happy place or home in Cornish and it is my hope that this piece brings you a little happiness in your home.

All my pieces are inspired by my surroundings.  This finish is called ‘Mên’, which means stone in Cornish.  It is inspired by carvings in granite you find in Cornwall, like King Doniert’s Stone on Bodmin Moor. This range is made with a flecked clay, glazed in a transparent glaze, so that the details in the clay show through.  Matching items are available in this range.

All pieces are individually made by hand in small batches so there may be slight variation and differences in shape, size and glaze from piece to piece.  For me, this is part of the charm of owing hand made and completely unique items. 

Caring for your pottery:

Looked after properly, your ceramics should last for years – as mine do! But please bear in mind they are ceramics and can break, so please handle your pieces with care to avoid breakages. 

Each item is high-fired stoneware, using food-safe glazes.  Whilst they are dishwasher safe, hand washing is recommended to extend the lifespan of your piece.  Microwaving is not recommended.

Packaging:

I NEVER buy new plastic packaging – any bubble wrap used in my postage is having a second life.  Please give it even more life by reusing it yourself.  Any packaging I buy is from recycled materials and is fully recyclable itself (the packing ‘beans’ are made from starch and dissolve in water).
